Greetings!

I am thrilled to be serving as President of the Roanoke Valley Paralegal Association in 2023! A lot of new and exciting things are happening with RVPA this year, and if you are reading this, I hope you will consider joining us and growing with us!   

This year, I hope to see some new faces at our monthly “Lunch and Learn” meetings, which take place on the second Thursday of each month. These monthly luncheons feature guest speakers who present information on a variety of timely and current legal topics across all areas of law, as well as ethical issues faced by today’s legal professionals.

RVPA’s monthly Lunch and Learns are an opportunity to become aware of new changes in law affecting your particular practice area, as well as the opportunity to learn about areas of the law you may be unfamiliar with. Who knows when something will pop up at your law firm, and you remember a speaker who talked about this subject? The monthly luncheons are also great networking opportunities, as well as a chance to relax and socialize with paralegals outside your own workplace. And if you are interested in the speaker and topic but unable to join us in person, we are also streaming the speaker presentations via Zoom, so you can take advantage of the virtual attendance option as well.

As President, I am focused on ensuring that all of our members (and potential future members!) are aware of the many valuable and helpful resources and tools available to you – not just to help with your daily professional legal needs, but also to support your career development and advancement. 

It is my hope that each of you will accept the challenge to grow both personally and professionally in 2023. I promise that RVPA will be there to assist you along the way.
